Haylee Nash

The Nash Agency is owned and managed by Haylee Nash, an industry professional with years of experience acquiring, editing, publishing and marketing bestselling fiction and non-fiction in the print and digital markets.

Haylee has published some of Australia's highest selling books from authors such as Rachael Johns, Fiona McCallum,  Sally Hepworth and Kylie Scott, and has worked for Pan Macmillan Australia, Harlequin Enterprises Australia and Booktopia.

Jaime Collins

After completing her studies in Medical Science and getting a ‘real’ job, Jaime still couldn’t shake her creative side, so she put pen to paper and, whilst completing her Master of Education, she landed her first  publishing contract.
Jaime spent the next few years writing and mentoring other writers, and after going back to university to start a graduate degree in Laws and Legal Practice, it became clear to her that she wanted to combine her passion for books and helping writers with her legal studies.
On completion of her internship at The Nash Agency, she has taken on the role of junior agent, and she’s looking forward to meeting some wonderful new authors!
While open to all fiction and non-fiction for adults and children, Jaime is particularly looking for Middle Grade and Young Adult fiction, and Thrillers—the darker the better!

You can query Jaime at jaime@thenashagency.com.au. Please attach your first 3 chapters as a Word document. You can also find her on Twitter: @JaimeLoren

"Haylee has a skill for identifying raw talent and working with an author to take them and their work to the next level. From the moment she plucked my debut book from the slush pile she has been a champion for my work, a mentor and an adviser. Haylee's vast experience in the industry is complemented by her professional but friendly attitude towards her authors. She looks at both the big picture and the important details when assessing a new manuscript and offers her authors both encouragement and technical support every step of the publication process. It was an honour to work with Haylee and I know any aspiring author will be lucky to do business with her".

Rachael Johns, ABIA award winner and bestselling fiction author

"I have Haylee to thank for launching my career as a novelist, and I loved working with her. Haylee is down-to-earth, a good communicator, very responsive and an all-round lovely person to do business with. She has a great eye for what works and doesn't in a manuscript and a proven track record in discovering new talent and commercially viable projects and then nurturing them through to successful launch, and beyond. I have no hesitation in recommending her to writers looking for advice and guidance and publishers needing freelance resources."

Fiona McCallum, bestselling fiction author

"As a full -time author of seventeen years I was truly fortunate to have Haylee as my publisher/editor for the last few books I have written.  Haylee has a wonderful ability to understand the concerns of authors and, as an author, I can vouch she is truly a dream to work with.  Haylee has the unique skill of seeing a work in progress from the perspective of the potential audience, and the aims of the author. Haylee delivers guidance in a very considered manner, and had she not chosen a career in writing I am sure that she would have made a wonderful diplomat."

Peter Watt, bestselling author of the Frontier series

"An editor works closely with authors to develop, liven, and perfect their stories. To do that successfully, the editor must form a relationship with the author and understand their voice. As well as meeting the above criteria, Haylee Nash is a master of her craft. Working with her is an absolute delight. Her commitment to her client goes far beyond her excellent editing skills. She’s detail-oriented, always answers any query in a manner that is easy to understand and often provides a catalyst for further development of the story. Haylee took a chance on me and she has been a huge part of my journey to success. I will be forever grateful."

Annie Seaton, #1 bestselling author in Amazon Romance series and winner of

“Working with Haylee Nash is a delight. Without Haylee, my career wouldn’t be where it is today. When Haylee said ‘yes’ to my pitch, I could hardly believe it. She then worked with me to structurally edit my first book so it was in a publishable state. We’ve worked together on subsequent books and Haylee has always enthusiastically pushed me and encouraged me every step of the way, from first drafts to final products, to get the best book possible for readers. Because of her, my books have reached best seller lists. Haylee Nash took a chance on me and I’ll never be able to thank her enough.”

Nicki Edwards, bestsellling rural romance author

"I had the privilege of working with Haylee Nash for a number of years on several books. She is a top class editor with extensive knowledge of what sells in today's market and why. Her insight is invaluable in taking a manuscript from good, to one that will sell. Haylee's attention to detail and keen editorial eye was undoubtedly one of the reasons The Secrets of Midwives was the top selling debut fiction of 2015.
